Rave Mobile Safety Celebrates Women’s History Month
Our country and the world have seen many brave women throughout our collective history. Hedy Lamarr whose communication system was a precursor to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, Alice S. Wells, the first female police officer in the United states, Sojourner Truth, who’s voice of advocacy changed our country for the better, Jeannette Rankin, our first female congresswoman, Sylvia Rae who was brave enough to be her whole self and advocated strongly for the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community, Tu Youyou, whose work saved millions of lives, and Molly Williams who was our first female fire fighter. History has given us brave women, before we had the right to vote and before we had independence, we had a voice, and it has gained an inspiring amount of strength.
More recently we have seen such historical heroes in Malala Yousafzai, Greta Thunberg and the entire United States Women’s Soccer team, all using their voice to make us better as a country, and a world.
How Can We Continue this Momentum?
There is so much work to be done for all human beings to feel safe showing up as their true selves. Equality is a human right, and we still struggle today to empathize deeply with the challenges of anyone whose experience we do not understand.
We are standing together more, men as allies, and women as a wall of courage, unified for the cause of equality and inclusion. There is an insistence gaining strength, for equal pay, for accountability, for humanity and love in our workplace. We are centered around balance, instead of work-life, life-work.
As we take a moment in time to recognize the advocacy and strength of the women all around us, consider those women who inspire you. Who gives you strength, lifts you up, makes you laugh when you need it, challenges you?
